Arcana Noctis: To get the height of the present, how do you estimate the debut "Jaws of Satan", recorded in 1988?
Sathanas: What feelings does it cause? Well, when we recorded "The Ripping Evil" demo, it was little different than the usual Metal or Black/Death Metal at that time, because of the heavy crunchy guitars. It has become a cult song. Most people at shows want us to play it. So we do. We will probably play it until we decide to end the band. It is SATHANAS!!!
Arcana Noctis: Your music is a quintessence of Black/Death metal, thick, pressing and hard sound as a facer by a whip. How did you succeed to get such a result?
Sathanas: Well, I use Gibson guitars for that fat guitar sound. We like to have a crushing sound with a mix of Black Metal. Too many bands these days have a thin guitar sound or too many keyboards. That takes away from the power. Have to be heavy to be Satan's metal!!!
Arcana Noctis: The Spanish artist Juanjo Castellano has carried out an amazing job, having hand in the design of the last album. Are you going to continue the collaboration with the artist?
Sathanas: Yes. Actually I'm in contact with well known artist Necrolord for the next cover. But we will be in contact with Juan for future artwork. He is a great artist!!! I would recommend him to any band.
Arcana Noctis: Most of the connoisseurs of your art are from Europe. Why has the situation turned out this way, from your point of view? Is the American society more liable to decay of clerical forms?
Sathanas: Well, I contact Kris Verwimp and Chris Moyen in the early days of Sathanas. They did art for us so I kept using them. So I decided to try other artists. Yes, like Juan from Spain. But after seeing his art I said hell yeah. But I'm glad to get great artwork from all of them including the great Necrolord. That should also be a killer cover!!!
Arcana Noctis: The American scene for Europe is seen being more directed to a "frenzy" and entertainment (gore lyrics and Death Metal) than to an expressing of philosophical points of view and anti-Christian protest. What do you think about it? Describe, please, how you see the scene of your country. Is it all right?
Sathanas: I really do not care. We write more towards evil and Satan the way this music was meant to be written. Sathanas will always have dark lyrics even if they are not in your face they will be subconsciously there.
Arcana Noctis: Which are Black Metal bands from U.S.A., as you consider, worthy followers of darkness?
Sathanas: Hm?? Harvest are very good. Black Trinity, Thornspawn, Lethal Prayer, also bands in the Death Metal genre like Nunslaughter, Leprosy, but there are so many I can't track!!
Arcana Noctis: Sometimes one can meet persons following the path of hedonistic materialism but ranking themselves among Satanists, denying Devil as superior divinity. At the same time you follow similar principles but not referring yourself to the list of Devil's brothers. Describe, please, your view of Satanism, and how you classify such an ideology. What are qualities or features in you barriers on the way to realize you a Satanist?
Sathanas: Well we don't throw Satanism in your face or say this is the way too live your life. We have our dark beliefs. Although we are not members of the Church Of Satan and so on. We know people that are and that's fine. We don't put a label on Satanist or Devil worshipper. Live life to the fullest. Fuck all that is Christian!! For he was just a man!!!!
Arcana Noctis: Following the path of the fall, an individual praises own essence, denying gregarious postulates, thereby confirming in proper norms. Is it possible to identify degradation to rising?
Sathanas: Satan rise and conquer all the fuckers!!!!

However, if we operate the history, many possessed by the idea personalities contributed to the world's changes, but there were a hopelessness of their situation that moved them and madness occurred from it. For example, one can appeal to a German corporal, having become later the leader of the nation, whose name is still pronounced with shudder by Zionist part of humanity. From the other hand, the desire to live is an indispensable feeling of a sane person... What an aim do you see in this life, allowing to break the barrier and laugh at death?

Sathanas: Yes we have our own practices and reading of occultism. Some goes into the music, some towards of life in general.
Arcana Noctis: I think you will agree that Church Of Satan is only a commercial nest selling Satanism and swindling money from it. As is well known, you keep in touch with Vincent Crowley, "serving" there until a quite high rank. What is your attitude towards Vincent's propagations?
Sathanas: You would have to ask Vincent that one. He is good friend of ours. But we do not talk about that. Just the music aspect of Acheron.
Arcana Noctis: What do you think about different occult orders and associations, do you see any necessity in them?
Sathanas: Not really. But if people are dumb enough to pay for it. Oh well.

But contrary to expectations, the site didn't vindicate itself, being a half-finished product, made in haste with lots of discrepancies to web-design canons. Why did you choose to keep such a result, after all you could get a simple but competent and laconic site?
Sathanas: No. Lord did not do the site. He was going to do it. But our friend did it. It is basic but good enough for now. It will get better.
